Common Questions

How does CameraSweeper find duplicates?

It analyzes your photos and videos on-device using visual fingerprints (for photos) and size, duration, and resolution (for videos) to group likely duplicates. Detection is a smart heuristic, so always glance at a group before deleting — CameraSweeper pre-selects everything except the best copy in each group to keep you safe.

Will it delete photos without asking?

No. You choose exactly what to remove, and iOS shows its own confirmation before anything is deleted. Nothing is deleted automatically.

Where do deleted photos go?

Into your Photos app's "Recently Deleted" album, where they can be recovered for 30 days before iOS removes them permanently.

Why does it need access to my photos?

To scan your library for clutter and to delete the items you select. Everything happens on-device — your photos never leave your phone.

Does it work with iCloud Photos or Limited Library access?

Yes. CameraSweeper works with your library whether or not iCloud Photos is on, and it supports Limited Library access — you can manage which photos it can see from Settings.
